Can't believe I'm just reading this (gods bless Twitter). Incredible post.

This stuff drives me in.sane. When my youngest son had to go to the ER for a respiratory infection, one of the nurses fell all over herself apologizing that the "girl" room in the ER was occupied. I kind of came unglued. First he can't breathe and now you want to turn him gay? Unacceptable!

Miss America always was an EVENT for me and my mom. Every year the two of us would sit down to watch, pens poised over little pads of paper (usually the same pads we used to keep score in Scrabble) to track the "best" contestants and cast our votes privately.
